Welcome to my website. I am a Philosophy, Ethics and Religious Studies teacher at Keswick School. My background is in Theology and Philosophy of Religion at Durham University, Teacher Training and an ongoing MSc in Education at Oxford University. This space is intended as a means to share my passion for the subject and support my students in the various topics they study. I aim to encourage interest, understanding, humour and enjoyment in the subject and student's wider perception of the world around them.
Please note that any external sites, youtube clips and cartoons I share here are not my own property, and that any lesson catch up files I provide for my students use are a combination of my own and other teacher's materials.

Philosophy Favourites
Where I post fun things related to (however remotely) philosophy in some form, that don't quite fit with the topics and syllabus I teach. Of course I do also post fun things related to the school topics, but they can be found on the topic specific pages (listed along the top bar). Enjoy!
Meet Olly- MA Philosophy student and author of Philosophy Tube, the home of short video clips exploring key philosophical ideas. I love these videos and like to use syllabus relevant topics in lessons where I can. Below- why we need philosophy!
Love this clip- a fab way to engage younger students (and older though they might not admit it) with the early Philosophers and some of the different branches and crazier aspects of Philosophy. Thank you Horrible Histories!
The BBC Philosopher's Arms Radio show- a fantastic find! This shows are a great chance to hear some classic philosophical topics being discussed in a relaxed setting with modern views and relevant examples. This is a one off youtube version, the rest can be found here. There are 4 series, and a whole variety of themes so take your pick!

Nothing like a French existentialist cat. You can catch up on his other philosophical musings here, but this is my favourite!
Ha- twist on a Descartes classic. How many Philosophy undergrads go through this ponderous realisation at ungodly hours. Silly fun really, but a necessary plus side of appreciating logic.
Its approaching Halloween- so a topical special episode from dear Henri.
